G.U.L.F. (Gay United Ladies of Florida)

G.U.L.F. (Gay United Lesbians of Florida)

is a group for Lesbian Women who live in North Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus and nearby counties. We welcome all women in the Tampa Bay area. We provide T-Dances, Potlucks and other social opportunities for the women of our community. Our purpose is to socialize, make new friends and enjoy old friends. We are "Your Information Connection" to other groups and activities within the gay and lesbian community.

G.U.L.F. was established in August 2001 by a creative group of women from very different backgrounds, orientations and religions. Doe Pericles led the founding group, bringing a wealth of information about events and support services we could utilize to create a new kind of group for women in our community. The other women involved in the birth of G.U.L.F. were Carol Brenner, Dallas McCormack, Terry Freeburg and Dr. Hilda Hildago.
 
At first, G.U.L.F. organizers networked with other groups. They met in parking lots and talked about where they wanted this group to go. Eventually a meeting was held at MCC Church in Spring Hill and G.U.L.F.'s goal was established -- to build a group that would provide and support activities for women in the central Florida Gulf coast area.

A creative group of women is still developing ideas for G.U.L.F., touching not just one county, but several including Hernando, Pasco, Citrus, Pinellas and other nearby Tampa Bay area counties. Our T-Dances and Potlucks offer a warm, welcoming and friendly environment for all women.

Our present committee of creative women has made G.U.L.F. even more accessible to women in our community by developing this web site. Our email list is now 400+ and growing!

G.U.L.F. gives back to the community by donating money to designated charities from our 50/50 raffles. Each year our Harvest T-Dance supports Toys for Tots. We have supported local charities including animal services across three counties -- the Hernando No Kill Shelter, PAWS Animal Rescue, SPCA and the Humane Society among them. Hospice has also been a major beneficiary of G.U.L.F. funds.

This committee of women wants to enjoy life by having fun and sharing with as many other women as possible, our friends in sisterhood. With each and every day more women move to the area and they can now find a warm and friendly welcome to a women's group, our group  G.U.L.F.
